dear dear postman..

Dear postman,

With a massively heartbroken spirit, I am writing to you to sort things out between us two.

I still remember the day we met. We were from 2 different worlds. However as fate would have it, we met and we were together. I was in a stuffy dark place along with my other species for an awfully long time. Day after day, things looked the same. All I see was darkness. I kept asking myself, how am I going to survive this horrid time. Which part of the planet would I be going to? It was a very depressing period indeed. It was until that very fateful day, when one day, there was this loud noise that awoke me. I opened my eyes and to my delight, I saw light! Yes! My captivity period is over!

A man took me out into a very different environment, which was cool at first, but then got freaking cold after a while. He looked at me for quite a bit. Heh, pervert. Sheesh.. all men are like that. "Just bear a few minutes lar", I said to myself. Me and my mates were then grouped accordingly in different groups. I don't know why though. Maybe I was hotter than the rest. Nevermind that. Anyways your friends took good care after me. All of them. All gave me good strong looks, Im sure they all admired me!

Then the inevitable happened. I was introduced to you by your friend. He sort of said something that I did not understand at all. You were different from your mates thou'. You had something that was different from your mates. They had this black thing on top, that looked like some sort of alienated plant/grass. Some looked like black thorns of cactus. However yours were different. Yours was red and shiny. That was what caught my eye. However looks aren't everything. "Never judge a book solely by its cover", I reminded myself.

It was the actions that count. With warm hands, you held me up and looked into my eyes. You then brought me into a warm place that wasn't as cold as the previous place. The place was filled with my mates. Some old, some new. You seemed to understand me. How could I ask for more I wondered? You provided me with warmth and company. Every now and then, you would even open up the enclosure to give me light and air. Not only that, it seemed that you would bring one of my mates out and put them in different places when you did that.

I thought it was sad at first because slowly each of my friends were leaving. However after a while, I started to understand. You were giving each of us new accomodation.

Some of their accomodation looked like this..

Advantages: Spacious, lots of bright light, fresh air!
Disadvantages: No window

Advantages: Moderate bright light/ fresh air, window
Disadvantages: A lil' smaller

Some more...
Advantages: Shared accomodation thus you have company
Disadvantages: No window, thus dark and window

Some some more...

Advantages: Shared accomodation, not hot
Disadvantages: Window very tiny (keyhole)

Some some some more ...
Advantages: You meet totally new friends in all sorts of forms and shapes
Disadvantages: Smells weird in there

Yay! It's like we are going on vacation! We get to live somewhere else. "Aww.. how sweet of you", I thought.

Patience was all I need for me to be in my new place. I spent the rest of my time fantasizing of my new home. Which one would I be in, etc etc.. My friends were all excited too. Everytime you opened the enclosure, we were all hoping that we were the ones to be selected.

Then the day came. As usual, when the "grrrrr" sound that came from you stopped. That somehow became a signal to us, that you were about to open the enclosure. On the fateful day, you looked around and held up a few of us. You looked at each of us carefully. I guess you were a lil' sad that we will be leaving you. I was sad too. As professional as you were, you placed my friends into their new homes. One by one each were being introduced by their new homes. A few of them, had their tenants welcoming them even! They also blurted out something similar.. Sounded like "Tens postman!". Some were "Ten u postman!" From there on, I knew that your name was 'postman'.

Somehow I was the last on your hands during that time. You looked me once more with the typical look that warms my heart. "Here goes", I said to myself. I was excited and sad at the same time. I could feel my tears coming each time I glance at you. "I couldn't bare it anymore!" I closed my eyes. I did not want to look ugly in front of you with my tears and all that.

Then..

I could feel that I was placed in somewhere a lil' different this time. It was warm at first, then quickly it became hot. It was noisy here. Hah.. Opened my eyes. Whoa.. It was so bright! Wait a minute.. Where are the walls? Where are the windows? Where are my friends? This accomodation definitely looks unlike one! I turned to look for you. Saw you, but you seemed to not hear me at all. I screamed at the top of my lungs for you but still you never turned back to look at me.

I realised you left me all alone in the middle of nowhere. It definitely broke my heart. From now on, I wish not to hear from you anymore Mr 'postman'. I hate you!

Yours truly,
Your neglected letter

PS: Assuming the letter is a female! Hahaha.. This story is a true story. This letter ended in this blog's author's house as shown in this pic. The author also saw the postman doing it with his own bare eyes!!! Plus the author's house had a mail box which was only a few feet from the place where this 'kesian' letter ended at. I don't know. Is this a common practice here in Brunei, where the postmen can somehow did not or cannot spot ur brightly coloured red mailbox for seemingly no particular reason at all?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I just changed my blog template. I felt the previous one made the text somehow hard to read. I don't know.. Tell me what do you all think? The poll is on the top right hand corner. Let's make this blog a better blog aight?!~ Bleh~ Thankies!
