OKay, I hope the answer you had has something to do with inspiration.. hahaha

"Walao! Sure bo? Doesn't look like it at all, man!"

Hehe.. Not very sure actually lol.
Im no super-duper-pro analyser of pics who can read correctly the message a particular pic is trying to tell.
Its actually one of the random pics I took sometime back when in the hope of capturing a nice pic showing the sun setting down.

"Har? Then what makes you think it gives a 'be inspired' message now?"

The bright sun.
I felt it showed hope!
In other words, hope down the stretch of road/journey.

"Ya la.. so it should give a 'hope' message instead of 'be inspired' lah. Bodoh lah lu."

Yes, the proper message should be around "hope".
Hah!
Anyways, the general point of this pic is to 'be inspired'.
Don't make sense eh?
Nevermind just read on and God bless.. Most likely it will by then..

Pictures have the power to send out messages.
Hope is just only one of em.

What should we do when the tough gets going?
What happens when it seems like there is no more hope?
Should I give in? or give up?

Once in a while, we do need that kick in d back. That 'spark'. The 'thing' that makes you dilate your pupil, sit up straight, adrenaline pumped at full efficiency, fists closed, then the 'message' suddenly appears and it says :

"Ill work hard!"

"I will strive!"

"Bring it!"

"Im ready!"

and many more self-reaffirming, positive statements that'll do nothing but bring good to you

That 'thing' we need is INSPIRATION.

I believe there are a few definitions of inspiration..

The one I'm referring to is this one below(from an Oxford dictionary btw):

Inspiration is defined as
'somebody or something that makes you want to be better, more successful, etc'

There you go..

Inspiration as seen from above can come from pictures. Where else?

Words

Words takes on many forms of uses. One of em is being an inspiration.

It is undeniable that our lives are filled with ups and downs. Whoever says that he/she only has ups only is a pure dumbnut that has no direction at all.

Thus, I thought, "why not share inspiring statements that I might stumble across?"

Not only will it serve as a reminder to me. Who knows? It might be of help to u too..

BINGO!

With that, the 'Be Inspired' section was born.

Scroll up for the first one! Top-right hand corner please =)

The end.

Bah.. can stop right there. There are many more other things for us to love and care about actually.

One of those should be animals lah.

Does that mean I am a vegetarian?
NO

Does that mean I should be a vegetarian?
Still no.

Does that mean that I don't care for animals?
Nah, don't think so. As quoted by CK, "Animals eating other animals is a part of life".

Shyt, Im lame.

Anyways back to my main point of this post. It is regarding the Animal Shelter of Brunei. Just in case you didn't know, I found its site/blog when I happened to google it. Haha.. I was curious, I think this society was officially registered sometime towards the second half of last year. Thus, close to one year already. If Im not wrong, there are currently working on their 'official' website at the moment.

Their current blog:
Animal Shelter of Brunei

Here, you can check out the dogs, cats and other animals that need a home. However, animals that you adopt will not be able to be caged or tali-ed. They'd even do a check at your place somemore beforehand as stated.

I feel they are doing a great job at the moment thou' I don't know them that well. You can read Kirsteen's blog. Im not sure of her position in the society and I never talked to her face-to-face before. Maybe she is the e-mail-to-person of the society because she's the one who replies the emails. I did email her a few times enquiring on stuff. Before discovering her blog, I was expecting the usual no-reply-to-normal-ppl treatment to be honest. I always believed that ppl like these certainly have far more important things to attend to then reply to a mail from a nobody. I got it wrong thou'. She never fails to reply promptly. Haha..

Not only that, she is one whose love for animals is UNMATCHED. Just read her blog. Kudos to her. She goes around chasing strays for hours, jumps into drains, does whatever is neccessary for strays that really need help. WOW. A rare, rare, rare, rare breed in the, as quoted by Ing " adobe Abode of Peace ". LOL

You could be members of the Animal Shelter. I along with a few others are already members. For $25 a year. Why not? Im sure the money will be in good hands. I guess the blogs will provide sufficient proof. :)
Here's the form. It was from last year thou'. Don't know whether the form is updated or not already thou'..

To submit the forms, send em to:

A-Fontane Company
Its near/next to Pustaka Remaja. Situated at Delima Satu.
For more info, ask Kirsteen herself. Her details are in the blog as well as on the form itself.

That should be it for now..

Germany - Austria match gonna start soon!

Nite ppl!

autism

Hulo!

Anyone heard of the "Learning Ladders Society"? yeap yeap.. on papers ada juga, on rano's site too.. Its another society caring for autism.. Yeap.. its another.. not the only. I wonder how many of you knew this fact.

There is also another society for autism, i.e. "Society for the Management of Autism Related issues - Training, Education and Resources" aka 'SMARTER'. There was this Charity Evening which featured our local artists organised by them + the IM Of UBD.. Ring any bells?? Still no?. Haha.. doesn't matter. Guess, now you should! Ahh, but wait wait what's autism btw?

Off i went on my lil' research.. google 'autism'

Here's what I found.

an adorable baby (source:www.lifedynamix.com)

What is autism?

According to Wikipedia, "Autism is a brain development disorder that impairs social interaction and communication, and causes restricted and repetitive behavior, all starting before a child is three years old."

Autism Symptoms (source: library.thinkquest.org)

Anyways, it's good to hear that Brunei do pay attention on autism.

So what could you or me do to help em??

Typical responses include: "I'm not rich ler.. Allowance alum kluar! .. I rather spend on Excapade! .. and so on..."

-->'Nada Cash Wah' solution
Nah.. u don't need to be rich to help lar. SMARTER came up with this shop whereby people can donate their old items to. Money from items sold would be to aid SMARTER, thus the autism patients. As easy as that. Don't go throwing away ur old stuff yah! Those stuff could help others..

Important INFO:
SMARTER shop is at Wisma Jaya building (ground floor) right opposite of HSBC in Bandar.

-->'Hehe.. actually ada sikit cash lah' solution
If you've got cash at hand or prefer to aid in the form of cash, I guess there is a way to aid them too. It seems that you could be a member of the "Learning Ladders" society, 'Support member' to be more exact, for the mere fee of $50 according to this page.

I also came across another interesting local blog related to autism too. Its about Raiyan, a autism child and his journey in life. I haven't finished reading all of the posts there, but do have a read.. there is definitely a lot to learn from it.

At this moment, that is all I know about autism and autism in Brunei.

Thus, happy reading ppl.. :)

hungry hungry!

Its around midight now, and as usual my 'not-so-meaty' stomach is growling.. "grrrpp grpppp". As usual when that happens, a normal person would start to think about food.. then this food popped up.. fried beehoon!
nah.. not your typical fried beehoon ah.. where you gotta add lots of chilli sauce to make it yummy, or those beehoon dishes in which the beehon is super dry and texture a lil' rough.. I was thinking about the 'Coconut Grove BeeHoon'.[It's non-halal btw!~] I guess its called that way. Ugghh.. unfortunately I can't upload the pics to my PC :( I'll post em up once I get those PC problems solved.

A typical beehoon dish
in case you some of you dunno what's beehoon! hahaha

So what's different?
- The beehoon used ain't the those packed ones which you find on shelves in supermarkets. My mom so calls it 'fresh beehoon'. Heard that it is only available at Hua Ho stores only.
- Smells super good
- You don't add chilli sauce to this dish, cause it'll end up tasting worse. It already tastes good without chilli sauce
- Ohh, price is more expensive. A normal dish with egg, taugeh, and a number of thinly sliced char siew(which also tastes good, not too much fat which is YUCK!) costs $3.50 ah!
- You can't find it in other places in Brunei? This is the first restaurant I heard that serves fresh beehoon. Do tell me if there are other places selling it!

So which restaurant and where?

Here's is a noobish map. It's called Coconut Grove. This restaurant is not that big. There are around emm.. 7 tables i guess. Usually packed during those usual makan-times. Ambience is kopitiam style but aircon's available.

Some recommendable dishes there are:

KB KuayTeow.
(They actually got popular for this dish). The KuayTeow ain't that oily, and its actual Kuay Teow from KB! There is a slight difference in its taste. You can find out.

Buttermilk Chicken!!
I'm a buttermilk chicken crazy person. Unbelievable leh when taking into consideration my body frame. Hmm.. this dish here should be 4 out of 5 stars lah. Ohh.. Remember to tell the waitress “Not too much chili padi ah!”, if you are not a handal chili eater. I end up like I just came out of a light shower during my first try of this dish. The sauce given is also sikit. Close to nothing. The portion given, to be honest, not enough for me. But the taste is good! Comparable to other better buttermilk chicken veterans like Nyonya's.

Crispy Mee.
Yeap! It's one of my favourites too! “Wah lao eh.. The stuff he eats is super oily la.. Boh koh leng, still thin!” Hahaha.. The crispy mee served here also 4 out of 5 stars. Not too salty. No gali carrots or corns <-- uggh I hate those stuff.

Ohh btw, Im don't get money from em for all this postings. I just wanna share with you ppl one of the many good places for makan!

Till then!
